At KUC, you'll find friendly people, great music, relevant teaching from the Bible, and a loving environment for your family. Whether you've never been to Church before, or haven't been in a while, KUC is a Church where you'll feel at home.
In 1906, the Kahului community had no church organization. A group of "leading men" authorized the then chairman of the board, Henry Perrine Baldwin, to send a letter to Reverend John E. Dodge of Massachusetts offering him the position of Kahului Union Church Pastor. He accepted and held the first service on November 4, 1906! Kahului Union Church has come a long way since then! The Kahului community has come a long way in development since then. Arguably the busiest city on Maui, today! Every Sunday we hold two services (unless it's a special Sunday and hold one 9:00am service only). First Service is held at 8:00am and considered the more traditional service due to music is more hymnal based. Second Service is held at 10:30am with contemporary worship music. The sermon and God's word are the same at both services! At 10:30am, we also have Nichigobu service, a Japanese language service in Kawaialoha Chapel. This is the only Japanese-speaking Christian congregation on Maui. Every first Sunday of the month, the Nichigobu members join the English members service for communion. We also have a Preschool! The mission of Kahului Union Church Preschool is to foster Christian beliefs, values, and attitudes in preschool children and their families. The teachers at Kahului Union Church Preschool believe that teaching in this preschool is a calling from God. They hold the responsibility of nurturing the faith of the children. This is central to the lessons taught, whether it is in art, math, science, language development and reading, or social studies. Content of the curriculum is God-centered with themes of God as Creator, as all-powerful and all-knowing, and plants the seed of understanding that Jesus is Lord and Savior and that "this is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us" (1 John 3:16)

We could see our church is BLESSED with so many, many nurturing women🙌 ☺️🌷 Video with: Yasushi Kenny Nemoto, Yuko Christine Nemoto, Tia Vaaimamao

Pastor Dillon led us in prayer as a congregation for Aunty Tia Vaaimamao’s granddaughter, Fau, and her family, during both services. Fau will be leaving for Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas... THIS SUNDAY on Mother’s Day! Aunty Tia said that Fau is flying out after church, so we hope to see her one more time🙌😀 It’s an exciting new adventure, and we are proud of her for following God’s leading in this way🇺🇸 Let’s keep Fau and the Vaaimamao’s in our prayers😌🙏
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (ESV) Make prayer a part of your daily life. Pray for our church, daily and monthly. Every FIRST SUNDAY of the month (tomorrow!), pick up a prayer guide on the patio after both services. Prayer guide includes prayer requests for our church. Pray on your own, but we pray in unity by focusing on the same prayer request of the day. Contact Lori if you want it emailed to you or message us through Facebook and we'll make sure you receive it. Tomorrow is also the last Sunday to sign-up as a prayer warrior for Summer Missions individual team members. On the patio after both services, please see the Missions Administration Team for instructions. Even if you don't sign up tomorrow, there will be opportunity to pray for the entire team. Keep a look out in the church bulletin for team's prayer requests.
Praise God! Mini Rummage Sale was hard work but so fun. This morning feels like such a long time ago... Seeing this long line to get in was very encouraging. THANK YOU shoppers for choosing to spend your Saturday morning with us. We very much enjoyed meeting, talking, and even laughing with some of you😀👍 Thank you—Thank you—Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraiser by donating items, spreading the word, setting up, working it, shopping, and breaking down! We hope everyone found treasures and made memories ☺️ We rest now... as we prepare for Sunday morning worship. Be in prayer for Pastor Ken who will be giving the message tomorrow. 🙏All things for God’s glory 🙌
Announcement for KUC members: Town meeting tomorrow between services. All members are encouraged to attend to prepare for fiscal year 2019-2020.
Sorry so late! We were hustling all night 😅 Can’t wait to open our hall doors TOMORROW! SATURDAY MAY 4th at 8:00am - Noon. Furniture in the back of the hall (outside).
It’s the return of N.U.M.B. 🙌🤪🎉 A Kahului Union Church original, traditional fundraiser. New. Used. Made. Baked. Except a few years ago we gave it a twist! N.U.M.B. inspired themed gift baskets. Ladies this morning creatively made these gifts to start. Still a work in progress but be sure to look for them at tomorrow’s Mini Rummage Sale! Perfect timing for Mother’s Day. Proceeds support Summer Missions.
Check out our “mini” but still rather big rummage sale. Pardon the here and there mess in the photos. We’re still in the process of setting up! Not bad for a night’s work. Praise God for the helpers and more so the sustained energy. Everyone worked so hard. Tomorrow we continue! Stay tuned for more photos tomorrow night🎉 All things for God’s glory. We hope yo see you on Saturday. Share the word 🤙
THE BEFORE PHOTO! Blank slate this afternoon😀new rummage sale layout. Check out the pile up we had in Room 14 and the container! We moved it all into the hall like 🐜 😅 🐜 marching one by one in the rain 🌧 drizzles.
Ahhh, the smell of rummage is wonderful🤣🤙It's super fun and thrilling to hunt for treasures, and then find them for a bargain. Can't you tell?! We are very excited for our rummage sale THIS SATURDAY! Can't wait to hang out with each other too.... We'll get to do God's work and meet shoppers on Saturday🙌 As we start setting up, we'll post pictures of our rummage goods, most likely Thursday night with photo updates on Friday night. Please check back: either on craigslist or Facebook. We'll update both.
KUC MINI RUMMAGE SALE - THIS SATURDAY! Why do we call it "mini"?🤔 Because the rummage sale will be contained mostly in Puaaiki Hall as opposed to spilling out into the nearby classrooms, like the big one! 😀🤙And our manpower is on a smaller scale... so we can only do what we can do! .....So actually, if you're interested in helping set-up on Thursday and Friday, please send us a message for details! Working hard and sweating😅 together for God's kingdom is the best way to fellowship and get to know others in the Body of Christ. Join us to work. Join us to shop. We just hope to see you at some point😉 Our big ANNUAL RUMMAGE SALE is scheduled for July 6th - Save that date!
We hope to see you tomorrow! Many opportunities to join us🙂 8:00am - First service in the Main Chapel w/ traditional hymnal songs. FYI sermon message is the same for both services. 9:15am - Sunday School for ALL AGES: children (preschool - 5th grade) meet in Kapiolani room at 9:15am. Children will be escorted to the classrooms by their teachers. Junior high meet in Room 13. High school meet in Room 12. Adults in Puaaiki Hall. 10:30am - Second service in the Main Chapel w/ worship team. 10:30am - Japanese language service in Kawaialoha Chapel. Entire service conducted in Nihongo! Kids Church with Aunty Joni and team will be held during the 10:30am services in Kapiolani Room.
If you are interested in being a prayer warrior for the Summer Missions team members, sign up and get instructions on the patio after both services on April 28th and May 5th. Really special this year!! The sign-up sheets will be Val’s homemade, New Mexico inspired cards. Sign the card of the team member you will be praying for ✍️ 🙂 Val has gone on several New Mexico mission trips. She can’t go this year, but said, “Sign me up for the home team!”🧡🙌 Let’s do the same! Let’s continue to be a sending church!
Join us for Adult Sunday School at 9:15am in Puaaiki Hall. It doesn’t matter which service you attend... since it’s held between both services😉 Grab a coffee☕️ and some snacks🍪 in the back of the hall, and then take a seat up front to participate in the lesson! Or, just listen and learn from wherever you’re sitting 😏👂 This Sunday, Doyle Choi will be teaching the LAST session of: The Gospel Project Unit 1 - Jesus Saves Session 6: The Savior is Raised (Matthew 28) Be sure to catch Doyle's session!..... because there will be a looooong🤯 break because of the many church happenings! Intro of the bilingual message! Wish we recorded the many humorous moments. Like when Pastor Ken Tanaka was animated, “what?!” and Pastor Yasushi Kenny Nemoto mimicked exactly “Nani?!” with the matching hand gesture🤷🏻♂️😂🤣 ... just an awesome duo! 🙌Praise God🙌 Check out the video clip... we did record the Gospel in two languages which is most important... 👍☺️👍

We were very 🙌blessed🙌 to have the youth and leaders from Winter Camp 2018 lead second service. Thank you Pastor Kaipo for giving the messages throughout camp and also this Sunday service. Theme of the camp was on how to live strong for Jesus, all the time, 24/7! “Therefore, be very strong to keep and to do all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, turning aside from it neither to the right hand nor to the left, [...] Be very careful, therefore, to love the Lord your God.” Joshua 23:6-11 ESV Thank you also Pastor Ken for helping to lead worship during second service!😆🙌! What a blessing🤲😌 Wish the recording was longer to share, because it was a wonderful worship time. All glory to God! GOD IS GOOD! Spur on Pastor👍🙏
Chancel Choir with guest singers this morning at the 8:00am service. Thank you ☺️🙏 it was a beautiful addition to the Necrology Service.
During our Thanksgiving Luncheon we played a slide show, "Give Thanks", which included photos of our many church members, attendees, and activities for 2018. Original slideshow video was 30+ minutes long, which is too long for Facebook! Here is the 2 minute version, including very limited photos. More importantly, it includes the message we want to share with you. Happy Thanksgiving! Join us in giving thanks daily.
Thank you Pastor Ken and elders! We appreciate you today and every day. Thank you for teaching us sound doctrine and encouraging us to carefully study God's Word. And, follow it -- so that we can fulfill our purpose of spreading the Good News of Jesus among all peoples and ultimately glorify God! We thank you for giving your time and energy to shepherd our KUC body of Christ. We pray for God's blessing upon your good work, protection from the enemy, and your continued faithfulness. In Jesus' Name!
THANK YOU Micah Ganiron for leading worship on Sunday. And yes, he played Majesty! Beautiful— Praise God🙌 Micah will be leading worship again THIS SUNDAY July 22nd. Second service only starting at 10:30am🙌😆🤙 Please join us!
We ended our musical evening by singing and marching to the traditional gospel song “Amen”. Sorry for the bumpy video — marching and recording... Had to keep on moving! 🚶🏻♀️🚶🏽♂️🚶🏼♀️🚶🏻♂️!!
OK--Last Bella video! Promise 😛 If you want to hear more, then you'll have to join us NEXT Christmas season. The KUC Bellas ended the night with this song (...well the audience wanted an encore... and got it... so this became the second to the last song). By the end, the audience was singing along!! Very awesome and extra special. Merry Christmas everyone!
